But before I get into that, I want to talk about the best books of the year so far.

Our list has gone up on the site, and that's always a very exciting time.

This is the point where all of our writers scramble to claim our titles that we think are the best books a year so far, and I always

really enjoy this list because it's really each of us talking about our absolute favorites.

So I think we get to have a lot of variety on this list.

There's going to be books there that you may not have heard of, that you might not have seen on other similar lists,

but they are all ones that at least one of our writers is really passionate about.

You can sort by genre.

I will have a list of, I believe it'll be up by the time you're listening to this,

a list of the best queer books the year so far on our queer shelves.

That's true of most of our genre category, newsletters, so you can look out the

best mystery thrillers of the year so far and get to see what we are really excited about

this year so far. It has been a great year in books, so check that out. And another thing you should know about is

TBR. So as we are getting into summer reading, if you want to really make it your best bookish

summer, really optimize your summer reading, there is such disappointment when you pack a book to bring to the beach or to bring on

vacation or to bring on the plane and you open it up and realize you have miscalculated

and this is not fun, it's not entertaining, it's not the mood you are going for, and you have

under-prepared. And of course, usually we pack way too many books

just in case, but sometimes you end up stuck with a book you didn't want. And that's why it's good
