I'm your host, Danica Ellis, and today I'm talking about three sapphic horror or gothic novels that I am anticipating in 2026. I feel like every episode

of all the more books, I just kind of take you hostage so I can talk about the queer books

I'm thinking about, because

I'm always thinking about queer books, and I'm not sorry about it. I am kind of a reluctant

horror fan. I have never liked horror movies, especially. I haven't been a big fan of horror books. You know,

I did goosebumps when I was a kid. But generally speaking, I avoided horror for most of my life

because I'm a scared cat and because I have, you know, the kind of anxiety that as soon as something upsets me, it will be in a loop in my brain until it no longer elicits a reaction.

So I have tried to avoid horror, but some of the people that I love most are big horror fans. And slowly, I keep getting pulled towards horror.

You know, it's been a few movies that have really challenged what I think of horror movies to be, have really expanded the genre for me, and then a few

horror books, and a few became a lot, and all of a sudden, some of my most anticipated

books of the year are horror books. And as usual, it is mostly queer books that have me expanding my reading

taste, because queer books encompass all formats and genres and tones and everything else.

So because that's kind of my inn, I find myself picking up books I might not have otherwise.

And now here I am.

I am forced to admit that actually I love a sapphic gothic novel.

I love a queer vampire story.
