You're listening to All the More Books, a weekly show about books of all kinds.

0:15.1

I'm your host, Danica Ellis, and today I'm talking about some of the books on my spring readathon TBR.

0:21.8

So it is officially April, and you know what that means.

0:26.2

It's time, almost, for Dewey's 24-hour readathon.

0:30.5

So this is a readathon that started in 2007.

0:33.4

It's named after its founder, who sadly passed away in 2009. And since then, a rotating

0:41.2

team of people have kept it going twice a year. This whole time, I think that's amazing. And it's such a

0:49.8

great community. You just have a lot of people on all platforms cheering you on, sharing with their

0:55.8

reading. I really recommend checking it out. This will be, I believe, my 15th year straight

1:02.8

celebrating. I've done it twice a year. I don't think I've missed any that whole time. And I love

1:09.5

it. If you haven't done it before, you definitely don't have to read the

1:14.0

full 24 hours. You can sleep. You can eat. You can have a shower. You can do whatever your

1:19.7

obligations are. Some people just try to fit in a little more reading around their workday or

1:25.2

taking care of kids, reading picture books together, whatever you can.

1:28.8

It is extremely flexible.

1:31.5

The important thing is that you prioritize reading and you get some good snacks in.

1:37.8

It's April 18th to 19th.

1:40.8

It's my favorite day of the year, the readathon. And before I get into the books on my TBR, I want to talk to you about the new release index.

1:55.8

Today's episode is brought to you by Poetry Magazine, wishing you a happy poetry month this April.

2:02.4

Book Riot fans are invited to celebrate poetry all year long with a special deal.

2:07.6

Subscribe to one year of poetry and receive a free limited edition notebook.

2:12.1

Practice makes poetry, and we'd like to offer you a space for your own reflections and creativity.
