And today I'm going to tell you about

three books of a mystery flavor. I feel like I've been leaning a lot into mysteries this year,

or at least it feels that way. So this is probably a refrain I have uttered on this podcast before.

But again, these times, they are trying. This is something that I feel like I reliably reach

for when I want a read that's going to do what I want it to do for me. I do a lot of mystery. I also say there about a lot of genres, though, so you know, go with it. One of these is actually more of a true crime, which definitely I feel like still falls under that umbrella of interest for me, but it's by one of the best nonfiction writers of our time, at least I believe that

to be the case, who also happens to have a new book out right now that is fantastic that I

talked about on the main show. The second is a murder mystery, but involving a fake murder and the

cozy setting that is the English countryside. That's just a lot of fun. And then the third is a mystery that I went to rediscover having read it and talked about it a couple of years ago by a Latina author with a cool focus on a younger YA audience, which is a thing I feel like I don't see enough of. We're aging YA up a lot. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's nice to see something that's kind of upper, middle grade, lower, Y, A, in a mystery.
