| 1:13.2 | And later, we're going to be joined by Emily Lazio, who is a children's librarian at our Tonkin Square branch in the East Village. Correct. Seriously, East Village. Awesome. 10th Street between Avenue A and B right by Tompkins Square Park. Is that Alphabet City? It is. Okay. Cool. Oh, you're so cute. I'm learning. I'm learning things. Not really, but I'm learning. You're learning. Yeah. I'll help you out. Thank you. How was your trip? I was in Mexico. Because when you become a librarian, you live a life of luxury. Yep. Just like our producer. Of course, we'll be paying off this trip for the next three years, but that's fine. |
| 1:07.5 | Oh, my God. So I got back the other day, and I just feel like, hey, I'm very low-key. Yeah. Did you just lie on the beach and read books all day? I did. Oh, delightful. I went with a librarian friend, like spinster librarians on holiday. I love it. |
| 1:08.3 | And it was very fun. |
| 1:10.9 | And we read aloud to each other. |
| 1:12.0 | Well, I mean. |

I get too tired to actually read aloud sometimes. You're just lying there like, blah. But it's a nice thing, like being read to. Like as a kid, it sort ofarkens back to that. |
| 1:46.8 | We also read individually. Yeah. That's a really sweet way to have a shared experience with a book, |
| 1:51.4 | though. Yeah. Like, that's really lovely. Yeah. That's actually a good, you know, quality time, |
| 1:58.0 | so in, you know, so-called thing for families to start doing, actually. Exactly. Not when you're just younger. It could be quite fun, like, you know, after dinner, one of the kids reads and everyone's doing the dishes and listening, like listening to an audio book, really, but probably your family members are reading out. So we're going to start that trend. By the next podcast, it has to be a thing. |
| 2:17.9 | Right. |
| 2:18.2 | This is an assignment. |
| 2:18.8 | All over Twitter. |
| 2:19.5 | Every one of you listening has to go and read part of a book out loud to a family member, whether they want you to or not. It's an interesting skill. You realize you think, oh, I can read aloud. And then you start doing it. Like, I'm not being effective enough. and you start wanting to act in |
| 2:14.6 | or get the parts. |
