I'm your host, Vanessa The Yes. This is episode 488.5, airing on November 8th. And I messed up. I was originally supposed to be on the October 11th episode of All the Backlist, and I was feeling so good about myself because the week prior to the 11th, when the episode would have needed to have been recorded and edited, I worked ahead weeks before that even because I was taking vacation that week. I ended up going on

vacation to Gabo San Lucas in Mexico. And I was just feeling so good about myself because weeks ahead of

all this, I recorded all my podcasts. I wrote a bunch of newsletters. I got a bunch of stuff scheduled.

I was like, look at me on top of things. This is great. And then I got back and realized I had forgotten to do anything with

this particular podcast file. Like I didn't give it to anybody. It was just still sitting on my

computer. So nobody could access it. And that is why you heard Sharifa in the mix,

pinch hitting for me that day, which of course I'm very appreciative to her for. But that

being said, the podcast that I recorded and so lovingly did so because I love the books that I

talked about was all about sort of like seasonally appropriate reading because it was the month

of October. So they're kind of witchy, kind of ghosty. And yeah, October is over, but it's still

really good reading for fall. And I just genuinely love these three books. I have a middle grade

pick for you, a Y a pick and an adult pick. I genuinely, these three books are I have a middle grade pick for you, a YA pick and an adult pick.

I genuinely, these three books are ones that I recommend all the time. And even though I am

sort of the embodiment of that Mariah Carey video going around, where like one second,

it's all black and gothy. And the next, it's like, Slaybill's ringing you're listening.

I still, I don't know, it's always spooky season in my heart to a degree. So I hope you will read and enjoy these the way that I did.
