I'm your host, Danica Ellis. This is episode number 491.5. And today today I am recommending a couple of manga series.

It is late November.

We're all approaching the end of the year, and it's tough out there.

It's cold.

The news is terrible.

I think a lot of us are feeling pretty defeated.

And now is the great time for some easy wins, for some easy reads, I think, especially if you're looking at your reading challenge for the year and you're maybe a little short of where

you wanted to be, a great choice is picking up some manga series. If you don't read manga,

you're really missing out. It's basically just a format, so it's a huge variety that's under

that umbrella, every conceivable genre.

But one of the things I love about the format is that they tend to be really quick reads,

obviously graphic novels.

In general, comics tend to go faster.

But something about, I think because manga has usually been serialized in a magazine before

it makes it into the volumes, they feel very quick.

Every volume kind of feels like a chapter to me.

So they're the perfect thing to just get a stack of from the library or, you know, you can buy them, and read basically all in one sitting.

And yeah, they will add to your reading goals.

They'll pat it a little bit.

But more importantly, these will just be really great reads. So I'm not a manga expert,
