You're listening to all the backlist, a weekly show about books that are not new. I'm your

host, Danica Ellis. This is episode number 471.5, and today I'm going to talk about a couple of queer indigenous books I've read recently and absolutely love.

So lately I have been trying to incorporate more indigenous authors into my reading. I feel like that is

0:37.6

important as a settler on indigenous land. I also volunteer for my local friendship center. They have a

library there and I volunteer there when I can so I want to find more books to recommend from the library so that's another reason but

0:58.4

probably the biggest reason is just always

that some of my favorite books of all time are indigenous books and I just always

So I wanted to share a couple with you that I discovered recently.

These also are both queer and they're also fairly local to me,

1:28.6

they're at least from the same coast as me, which is something that I like to prioritize. I'm always

1:37.4

looking for more local indigenous authors. So if you're on the west coast of North America, you can take that as a sign to bump these

1:47.2

up on your TBR as well. But honestly, they're just great reads for anyone for any reason.

1:54.8

Before I jump into those though I want to talk about TBR so this is a great opportunity to have your most bookish summer yet with personalized reading
