Happy New Year, everyone. It's the first backlist episode of 2021.

Since I had a couple weeks off from backlist in all the books I used my spare reading time to read so many books.

I just barely met my reading goal last year so I'm setting the same goal for this year

which is 120 books. I decided to focus on goals this year for things that I actually enjoy doing

so another one of my goals is to introduce my wife to eight musicals.

Last year the goal was five musicals and we hit that so I wanted to increase it because I had forgotten how much joy musicals bring me.

For a few years, many years ago musicals bring me. For a few years many years ago musicals were my whole life.

Focusing on things I enjoy is also why I'm keeping the reading goal high. Well it's high for me right? So I was talking to a friend and we both

do this thing where we know that reading is integral to our mental health but then when we are feeling our lowest, like our most

anxious or our most depressed, is when we can't bring ourselves to read, yet

it's exactly the time when it's most important that we should be reading.

So we're going to be each other's accountability buddies this year for reading.
