Hey guys, welcome back to Thicken Thin with me, Katie Balotti. I have to say I am getting

0:20.2

into the holiday spirit. We are in the first week of December as I'm recording this. It's

0:24.9

the 7th of December, so we are well into the first week and a half, I guess, because December

0:31.0

started last Wednesday or something like that. But it just takes December hitting for

0:36.7

me to start getting into the holiday spirit. No, I do not have a Christmas tree up in my

0:41.3

apartment. People on Instagram were asking me if I was going to get one. And I do think

0:45.7

it could be great in here because I do have these large tall ceilings. But for some reason

0:51.0

I just don't feel like I want to get into all that. Does anyone else like get lazy when

0:55.8

1:24.2

what's on the inside that counts? I feel very festive. I feel very in the holiday spirit.

1:29.8

Tis the season. Tis the damn season, everyone. Tis the season to talk about what is valuable to us.

1:38.7

This episode is about that. Not just those shiny glistening golden things that might be on the

1:45.0

top of our Christmas and Hanukkah lists this year, but those truly valuable things, those things

1:52.4

that are irreplaceable. So today we are investigating a phrase. A phrase that many of us have

2:00.1

definitely heard before in poems, in songs, in books, in TikToks, even. All that glitters is not

2:06.9

gold. So I heard this the other day and it was almost like I was hearing it for the first time.

2:12.2

Do you ever feel that sensation when you hear something that you've heard before, but it's almost

2:16.9

like you, something clicks in your mind and you're like, wow, that's something that there's
