I do slob a lot in front of the television. I just watched the Equalizer, Equalizer 2 and Equalizer 3. I introduced my mother to the delights of married at first sight last night. That's how low I've gone. Wow. And the Times columnist Jenny Russell, who's far too high-minded to be slobbed in front of the television. Welcome to the show, Jenny. Oh, well, I don't know.

I'm married to a television producer. That's right, actually. Doesn't he do traitors? He makes the

traitors. That's pretty good. And gogg box. Oh, wow. That must be great. Have you asked him

whether you can appear in traitors?

Oh, I can't imagine any worse nightmare than having a camera train doing you the whole time.

I'd run a mile from anyone who tried to put me on a show, wouldn't you?

I think the whole country wants to be on traitors. That's... Well, you know, 300,000 people expressed interest in the last series, so that's a lot of people to go through.

That is a lot of people.

There are a lot more people, though, who are unemployed.

Let's begin with the report by Alan Milburn, the former Labour Health Secretary.

He says, and it's a pretty stark warning, actually, that we face the prospect of a lost generation because of the number of young people, not in education, employment or training.

Official figures do say it's more than a million of 16 to 24-year-olds who are inactive.

Melbourne says more than half of them, in fact 58% of them, have never had a job.

His press conference was at 11 o'clock.

If the current trajectory continues within five years, we forecast in this report that today's

one in eight young people who are neat will climb to one in six.
