| 0:21.4 | to clean up after the hundreds of thousands of protesters |
| 0:24.3 | so that this public space stays clean for all those who will walk, march, sing, |
| 0:30.5 | dance, and maybe even sleep in that square that day. |
| 0:34.2 | And that might sound like it's not a big deal, |
| 0:36.7 | because it's just cleaning, right? |
| 0:38.9 | But in this country, with a garbage crisis that has lasted years without resolution, |
| 0:44.5 | where it's not uncommon to see people throw coffee cups, tissues, and even trash bags outside their window, |
| 0:51.5 | this, my friends, is a big deal. |
| 0:55.2 | The act alone is like a revolution in its own right. |
| 0:58.7 | And it's not a small group either. |
| 1:01.3 | When our Kernan Culture's team went out to meet them for the first time, |
| 1:05.0 | there were more than 200 people there, |
| 1:07.3 | latex gloves and pickers and all, sorting through everything. |
| 1:11.0 | I'm going to estimate around 300 the first, first day. |
| 1:14.0 | And you see people just walking by, and they're like, what's happening here? |
| 1:18.4 | Oh, we're clearly. Oh, okay, we'll pitch in. |
| 1:20.7 | This is Hibud and Dashley. She helps run these cleanups each morning. |
