In organizing America's 250th birthday celebration, the Trump administration ran into an embarrassing problem.

Several prominent artists booked for the festivities abruptly backed out.

They claimed the event had become too political.

Organizers needed to fill the gap with artists and fast, but they couldn't find replacements.

The situation got so bad that Trump suggested maybe he should be the headliner.

The entire affair got many wondering, where have all the conservative artists gone?

The common answer from the right is that they've all been blacklisted from the arts.

And there is some evidence for that belief.

Deborah Messing and Eric McCormick are calling on the Hollywood reporter to print a list

of all the attendees of a Beverly Hills fundraiser for you know who, so they know who they don't

want to work with. It's a list of Trump supporters giving money. So they're calling it a blacklist.

They should call it a white list, first of all.

But this explanation ignores something.

If there is a blacklist, how have liberals been able to enforce it?

Did conservatives help create the problem themselves?
