What a verse.

What a promise.

Now, I should say from the very beginning that both Matthew 24 and 25, there are a variety

of different followers of Jesus who believe and love God's word, who have different

understandings of how some of Jesus' words in these two chapters about the

future will play out or have played out in history. But the picture here in verse 14 is so awesome.

Jesus saying how this gospel of the kingdom, this good news of the kingdom, will be proclaimed throughout the whole world

as a testimony to all the nations. That's the same language we're going to see from Jesus just a few

chapters later in Matthew chapter 28, go make disciples of all the nations. So this gospel of the kingdom

will be proclaimed. This is a promise throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. And we know, so if we just jump to Revelation

Chapter 7, we know that in the end, when Jesus returns, he's going to receive glory, Revelation 5,

Revelation 7 make clear from all the nations who have experienced his salvation. Every tribe,

language, people, and nation will be gathered around his throne, represented there people

from all the nations praising him for his salvation. It's going to happen. What this means is,

as we go out and make disciples of all the nations, then we can have a rock, solid confidence. We go

to any unreached people group, any place in the world where the gospel hasn't gone. This

gospel has power to save. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole

world, and people from that place, from that people group, that nation, that tribe, that

language are going to be gathered around
