Let me just give you a working definition of praise. Watch here on the screen. Praise is to commend,

to applaud, or magnify. There are three Hebrew words that describe what praise is. One of them is

Yadda, to praise, give thanks, or confess. One of them is Zamar, to sing praise. Another is halal, the root of hallelujah,

meaning to praise, honor or commend. Like you commend someone. Like when I praise my kids,

I tell them when they're generous. Wow, that's amazing. When they're, when they're kind,

I'm so proud of you. When they're, when they're sharing

with their brothers, man, that's what I'm talking about. Sometimes we have to understand,

we do not praise God because of what he does. We praise God because of who he is. And sometimes,

even as a parent, I have to stop myself and say, don't just praise them when they get good grades.

Don't just praise them when they do good grades. Don't just praise them when

they do something nice. No, tell him who they are. Shape their identity. When we praise God,

we're praising his character. We're praising his nature. Don't be someone that just praises because

of miracles or breakthroughs or signs or wonders. Because if you do that, that you have sparsity in your praise but the

consistency of your worship comes from loving his character and loving his nature saying that's my

god and by the way when you commend god you're recommending god to others you're saying because i love

god it's saying i recommend God to everyone that I know.

No, I love Psalm 63. Look at this in verse 1. Oh, God, you are my God. See, I think faith gets fun when you say,

that's my God. See, I think above having your basketball team and your football team and your connect group and your friends.

No, no, have your God.

Oh, God, you are my, that's personal.

You're my God.
