Summary

Aaron McIntire reflects on a historic week as the Israel-Iran ceasefire holds and celebrates The A.M. Update hitting one million downloads. In the Friday Five Pack, President Trump ramps up pressure for the “big beautiful bill” with a White House event featuring Border Czar Tom Homan, who passionately defends its border security measures. Trump announces a finalized trade deal with China. Nestle joins other food giants in phasing out synthetic dyes by mid-2026, prompting questions about their prior use, while Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt partners with RFK Jr. to ban artificial dyes in schools and prisons and limit SNAP benefits for junk food. NYC’s socialist mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani joins Jen Psaki, signaling national ambitions, while ex-Rep. Jamal Bowman blames black health disparities on racism-induced stress. A Michigan church security guard recounts stopping a would-be mass shooter. In Ask or Tell Me Anything, McIntire tackles Iran’s nuclear threat, questioning why Iran is singled out compared to China or North Korea, and addresses whether pride is always sinful, distinguishing godly encouragement from self-righteous conceit.

Again, every single week, I say the same thing on the Friday show. What a week.

It really is a historic, at least these last couple of weeks to be serious, have been very, very historic. We think as the ceasefire over in the Middle East between Israel and Iran again continues to seemingly hold, that was a crazy, crazy week. I forgot to say this as well. Last week's poll of the week, what do you think the outcome or what do you think the end goal of this war will end up being? I gave you one of those options was short with U.S. engagement. Whoever voted for that, you guys win. But man, live, when you just take into account everything that happened over the last 14 days, it is absolutely nuts to think about.

It does seem like this year overall, and I've made comments kind of hinting at this.

0:59.9

It just seems like something is happening in history right now. It just does to me anyway.

1:06.8

I mean, it seems like everybody is alive, like this country is alive again.

1:12.1

Now, we don't know if it's maybe a last gasp alive or really we're starting to awake from a long national slumber.

1:19.9

But it does seem like this country is alive.

1:22.1

Before we get to our Friday five pack of news stories, I just want to thank you this week.

1:27.0

We passed another

1:28.1

milestone on the AM update. One Mirion downloads over the life of the podcast. And for a daily

1:37.4

show like this, that's not huge numbers, especially over two and a half years. But it's still something that not a whole lot of people, and you think of all of the

1:47.6

podcasts that are out there.

1:49.1

Even the ones where people are getting paid serious bucks for, not many people can say

1:54.8

they've had a podcast downloaded a million times.

1:58.2

And these are the IAB numbers.

2:00.7

For those of you who are familiar with podcasting,

2:03.2

these are actually certified downloads, filtered out for quality. One million downloads. And I just

2:08.7

have you to thank for it. Not the biggest audience, but the best. And I appreciate you. Let's go to

2:14.7

our Friday five pack of news stories. President Trump is putting on the

2:18.9

half-court press, I think, for the one big beautiful bill. I say that because I don't know how
