I'm Dr. Anthony Eun, America's holistic plastic surgeon.

On today's mini podcast, we're going to talk about a very hot topic in

plastic surgery and that is fat grafting or fat injections. And basically the

idea is that if you can take fat from one part of the body,

purify that fat, and then inject it into another part of the body.

Now we're going to cover the three most common areas that we inject it. The first one being the face, the

second one being the breast, and then we'll stop with the buttocks. We'll finish with the buttocks.

Fat grafting really is a super hot topic because as time goes on we're finding more and more ways to use our own fat to our advantage.

It used to be that if you wanted to get rid of fat, we would just basically throw it out, like with

liposuction.

But we're now finding that you can actually recycle that fat and use that fat for other

purposes.

So let's start with facial fat grafting. Now some of you know that when I

when I started this training to become a plastic surgeon I did did this in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Michigan State University.

And this is a very, very well respected community program with a number, and really pretty much all of them were very very good

outstanding really plastic surgeons. But the one thing that I didn't learn

while I was in Grand Rapids are some of the more advanced and cutting edge techniques that were being done in other

parts of the country like in LA and New York and Miami. And so when I moved out to

Los Angeles I spent a year working with a plastic surgeon out there, Dr. Richard Ellen Bogan,

one of the things that he introduced me to was fat grafting.

And once again, taking fat from one part of the body and injecting it into basically the face.
