I am Kemper Donovan, and for the first time in a long time, I am not coming to you alone

as a solo host.

As many of you know, this podcast was created as a joint venture, and ever since my former

co-host Katherine Brobeck passed away at the end of 2021, I've brought on friends and

colleagues whenever I possibly could to share the load and to engage in a dialogue with me

about whatever topic we might be discussing.

And today, I think I've kind of outdone myself because I have not just one, not just two,

but three co-hosts who are joining me to discuss a topic I have been eager to highlight

for a while now.

It's a topic I wish this podcast had done a better job of analyzing when Katherine and

I were doing our systematic review of Christie's novels.

Today's episode is going to be all about ableism in Agatha Christie's ovra, and my hope

is that it will feature some of the conversations that should have taken place in a deeper

and more thorough going way whenever Katherine and I were discussing depictions stuck in their

time in Christie's books.

You may have no idea what I mean when I say ableism, and that is okay.

We are going to get into it.

But before we do, I want to introduce my three co-hosts, all of whom live in the United

Kingdom.

This is going to be a very British episode, listeners, so let's all rejoice in that.
