By the 2010s, domestic set family centric horror had returned to the spotlight.

The success of movies like The Babadook, Get Out, Hereditary, The Invitation and The Witch

all proved that audiences were ready for a quieter, more human kind of horror.

But where does that leave Cosmic, Sci-Fi and Alien horror films?

In 2016, director Dan Trachtenberg made a single location thriller about three strangers trapped together in a bunker

with a supposed alien invasion happening outside.

Then in 2018, John Krasinski made a terrifying monster movie about a family living silently in a rural farmhouse under constant threat of sound-sensitive alien predators.
