Hi everyone and thank you for joining us for the 496th episode of the Hollywood Reporter's

Awards Shatter Podcast.

And the second one that we have had the pleasure of doing here in Cannes, for those of you

who are tuning in as opposed to joining us here in the room, I will note that we are

back in the Compari Lounge, within the Palais at the Cannes Film Festival, the belly

of the beast, on the host Scott Feinberg, our Executive Editor of Awards Coverage at

the Hollywood Reporter.

It's great to be with all of you and great to be with one of our greatest actresses who

I last had the opportunity to interview on this podcast in 2016 for our 34th episode.

So there's been a lot of activity on our end and certainly on hers over the time since

given how much she's been up to over the intervening years and that she is the star of

one of the most anticipated films in competition here, this festival, Kareem and Uses Firebrand

in which she plays Catherine Parr, the sixth and final wife of King Henry VIII.

I feel like we are due for another round and so I'm thrilled that she agreed.

At just 34 she is already an Academy Award, Saga Award, and Critics Choice Award winner,

a three-time BAFTA Award nominee, a two-time Golden Globe Award nominee for her performance

on HBO's 2022 limited series, Irma Vep.

She is now in the running for an Emmy Award nomination and I suspect that when people see

Firebrand, this list of accolades is going to grow even further, suffice it to say that

she is in the words of one fan, quote, the biggest Swedish export since IKEA, close quote.
