I'm Mick Garrus, and this is Postmortem.

Over the last several years,

the horror genre has become more and more ubiquitous.

Indeed, it's hard not to notice the mainstreaming of tales of terror

as a massive movement in the world of entertainment,

particularly in films and television.

Scary stories fill the large and small screens

and make lots and lots of money.

Although it's nice to see our world gain acknowledgement

for its ingenuity and profitability,

it's hard for me to see this mainstreaming of horror

as a good thing for its inventiveness and creativity.

Though gaining respect at the box office,

the studio executives still have little respect
