I've run into Alfiebo several times. Oh, I sound like Wogan. I didn't mean to. Oh, easy, mother.

Several times over the years, and not least at a cafe in St. Margaret's where we both seemed to congregate.

As I recall, and we touch on this briefly in the interview, he was living in a flat that belonged to Pete Townsend. Anyway, we'll have to talk

about that the next time. He was full of beans, mix up with the taxis. He was 20 minutes late,

but it didn't matter. I didn't hold it against him.

We talk about all sorts working with the nightmare that is Michael Ball. I wouldn't wish it on

anyone, as well as somebody in the room laughing. That's good. Always a good sign. Working in Las Vegas standing on the spot that Elvis stood on before joining the stage.

And his remarkable story of how he began in the business.

It's a proper kind of rags to riches Hollywood biopic when he's polishing cars and somebody hears him singing and says,

Hey kid, you got talent, you ought to pursue that.

This was in Blackpool, so he wouldn't have sounded like that.
