Alexandria Stapleton's docu-series, Sean Combs the Reckoning, was a massive hit for Netflix.

Other versions of the story had already been told on different outlets,

but Stapleton says working with the streamer was the only way for her to capture the saga of the fallen hip-hop mogul.

There wasn't going to be like a gun to my head to get it out, you know, in three months or six months.

And it's like, how could you do a really accurate assessment of the story when you're putting out something way in advance of the actual trial happening.

Stapleton tells us how partnering with executive producer 50 Cent

opened doors for her but did not compromise for editorial independence,

despite 50's long public beef with combs.

She also discusses the care she exercised to let alleged victims come forward on their own terms.

And she addresses what she won't address.
