Slates Lily Lufbro has been watching a lot of videos of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently.

She's been trying to figure out why conservatives are having such a hard time making Ocasio-Cortez

into their enemy.

Because I think at one point I thought, you know, she just seems to have so much charisma

that they're not attacking her in the way that they might other people.

And then as I was looking into it, she's like, no, they are.

That's not the problem.

That's not exactly what's going on.

But for some reason, it's not working.

And it's not working the way we're used to seeing that work.

Lily's used to seeing it work like this.

A female candidate gets popular, and at the same time becomes something of a caricature.

A pretty candidate becomes dumb, a forceful candidate becomes trill.

Both sides do this, but with the congresswoman from the Bronx,

it's really the right-wing media that's putting the work in.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hitting the campaign trail with Bernie Sanders this week.

But is she all sizzle and no steak?
