Time for the podcast. If you are in the United States, you're probably nursing a little bit of a hangover on the back of the 4th of July celebrations. These ones being the big one because it's the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of the American Republic 1776 4th of July.

We're going to talk about the man who I believe was the most consequential of the founding fathers.

You don't hear a huge amount about him, and that is Alexander Hamilton, the man who is responsible for the dollar,

the man who's responsible for the American banking system, the man who is responsible for the dollar, the man who is responsible

for the American banking system, the man who was responsible for putting the American Republic

on a secure financial footing off which the American economy grew, grew and grew in the early

part of the 19th century, attracting in, as we know, an enormous amount of both people and capital from Europe,

fusing together to create by the end of the 19th century,

the economic behemoth, that is the United States.
