With his four films, Amoros Peros, 21 grams, Babel, and now his newest Beautiful,

director Alejandro Gonzalez and Naurito has made films about the responsibilities

and the pains of fatherhood.

He's back to talk about his new film, Beautiful, which he also co-wrote.

Alejandro, welcome back.

Hi, Elvis. How are you?

Happy to be here. Thank you for inviting me.

Good to have you back. But, I mean, it's this interesting thing.

Because I know the first three films I thought of as being kind of a death trilogy.

But I think about all of them, basically, is part of a piece about dealing with fatherhood.

And I wonder how far back that goes for you in terms of filmmaking.

First of all,

I always has been kind of shocked by this name that people has given

to the trilogy,

like the dead thriller.

It sounds really dark.

Like the dead trailer.

I disagree with that kind of nickname in a way.

And let me tell you why.
