Welcome to Middays, I'm Susie Larson, so honored to get to spend this time with you. In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every single day that hopefully inspire you in your faith walk, the deep in your understanding of God's Word, and that heightens your awareness of his very real presence in your life. Well, many of you know who have walked with me a long time. You know I contracted Lyme disease in my 20s as a young mom, which really was quite the

battle for me. And then some of you may know that my husband, Kevin, was diagnosed with cancer in his 30s.

So for us as a young couple to be hit so hard of two significant health battles, it was

so jarring.

Keb always says it's something he would never wish on his worst enemy, something he never

wants to go through again, but something he wouldn't trade for the world.

I'll tell you, those experiences radically changed how we show up in life. And one of the verses we

return to time and time again is this one, Psalm 9012, teach us to number our days that we may

gain a heart of wisdom. You know, to number your days, it's to recognize and acknowledge their

worth, that they're a gift. It's to literally appoint the day for a purpose. And oftentimes I'll

slip out under my knees right when I get out of bed and I number the day for a purpose. And oftentimes I'll slip out under my knees

right when I get out of bed and I number the day. Lord, this is a gift from you. I don't know

what it all holds, but help me be faithful. I'm second, you are first and I submit to your

rule and reign, lead me and guide me. It's so good to understand that tomorrow's not promised,

but we have today. And you'll gain a heart of

wisdom when you cherish the gift of today. Well, my guest today has served as a major ministry leader.
