What's up everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Late Night Drive. My name is Ellie Schnitt.

And I'm Michaela. And we are so happy to have you here in our car on this beautiful, beautiful little late-night drive.

Oh, it's beautiful out. You know, I can't say that the week, that the scenes of the week have been

incredibly beautiful for me personally. However, I will say that the weather has been awesome, despite it all.

The weather has been genuinely amazing. Yeah. So like my laptop broke and then on my

way to the appointment to get it fixed my car broke down. And so I I don't have a laptop right now.

But we're recording via your phone, well my phone and and your computer. So it's like fine. It's just, it's one of those

weeks. And then yesterday there was this huge internet outage. Yeah. Is that what it's called?

Like a server? It was like a server? I don't know. Whatever the server like Amazon and stuff

on. AWS. Yeah. Um, which I didn't realize how many things it was connected to.

They were posting the list of like how, because I only noticed Canva, which is so funny

because I use it for like social media marketing posts.

Yeah.

Um, and then I woke up and people were like, Snapchat was down, Prime video was down, Hulu was down, ring camera was down. Oh my God. All of the booking systems that like my family members use for work type things were down. Yeah. I guess like Teams wasn't down, which people were upset about. But like pretty much, everything else.

Like Venmo, Robin Hood, like, I don't know.

The implications are crazy.

Like, it's so easy to just, like, stop the American economy with one server, I guess. Literally what I'm saying.

I'm like, this is why monopolies should be discouraged.

Because if this one thing goes down seemingly everything goes

down and that's scary that should be scary it is very scary like i even just the canva thing i was

like oh i can't get my work done today like completely unbeknownst to me and then ring camera it's

like oh and my security system isn't working and venmomo, it's like, oh, if I need to pull money out, I can't do that. Or like, Robin, like, I can't pull money out from that account. Like, it's so many things at once where it's like, even a couple hours can be a huge deal for people. But it was like quite some time, actually. I think it was like 12 hours or something. Yeah, it was like most of the morning. Like it was like pretty much half the work day. And like some of the things that I used for work were down. And I was like, okay, well, I guess I can't work. I guess I can't work. No, but yeah, it was crazy and it was like spooky too. I don't know, that's sort of been the theme, I feel, of the last couple months.
