Well, so let's take up the past a bit, or the recent past,

last couple of years really.

Our good friend Michael Anton, of course,

wrote this famous essay, The Flight 93 election,

right around Labor Day of 2015, Rush Limbaugh ended up reading it on air. I think the whole thing crashed our website.

It's still consistently one of our most red pieces and as I like to joke with Mike,

Flight 93 is now referenced without any explanation as a certain kind of alarmist mindset on the right.

We obviously don't think that essay was alarmist. We think in, Mike has been proven substantially correct in his predictions or

his analysis of the stakes and the bent of the radical left and what it wants to do with power once it gets it.

But I like to joke with Mike that he really gets to live rent free in the heads of a good portion of our elite left and right.

So we want to just talk a little bit about this complaint about alarmist rhetoric.

First on the agenda is this piece from earlier in January by Andy

Samarick at the bulwark.com. As I said in a tweet thread about it,

here to summarize for you so you don't have to. But Andy said the following, we

see similar sentiments on the other end of the political spectrum. He had just

been talking about the left and
