Summary

The Osmonds reached what was arguably the peak of their fame in 1973. That year, the band made what many considered an interesting decision and released The Plan, a landmark album that explored the eternal nature of God’s plan and the role of Jesus Christ in salvation. Alan Osmond almost always sang backup vocals but, as the oldest of the Osmond brothers, was in many ways the leader of the brothers’ group and the writer of many of the Osmonds’ songs. In this episode, Alan shares the inspiration behind The Plan as we celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the album.

0:03.0	Well, at its peak in 1973, 50 years ago this year,
0:08.0	over 15,000 Osman fans shut down London's Heathrow Airport.
0:13.0	That same year, the Osman's devoted an entire album
0:17.0	to sharing what they believed as the plan was released.
0:21.0	So, why would one of the most famous music groups
0:24.0	make an album to share the doctrines of their faith?
0:27.0	Well, because they believed it.
0:30.0	Although he has two older brothers,
0:32.0	Alan Osman is the oldest of the singing Osman brothers,
0:36.0	and despite rarely singing anything,

0:40.0	Alan co-wrote and co-produced many of the Osman's biggest hits,

0:48.0	In 1987, Osman was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis,
