I teased yesterday that we were going to have some news that news is now out there. I want to welcome Kurt Schilling to Outkick. Kurt is in my opinion a Hall of Fame baseball player who has been discriminated against because of his political opinions and as a result was not voted into the Hall of Fame.

I think that ESPN canceled him because they didn't like his political beliefs, but I think Kurt is a uniquely talented broadcaster when it comes to analyzing Major League Baseball. And I'm excited to welcome him into the Outkick Fold.

Look, Outkick is anti-cancel culture. We don't believe that anyone should be canceled for their political opinions or their sports opinions or their opinions in general.

We embraced a robust and uninhibited First Amendment at this company. We are the antidote to the woken sanity that ESPN pedals every single day. And we are growing in a rapid fashion because of that.

Okay. This story has just come down. So I am still learning about it. I'm going to read the story with you.

Because the details are just now coming out. So Alabama men's basketball team right now is the overall number one seed in the NCAA tournament. They've had a very good year. They've only had, I believe, one loss in the SEC all season.

And their best player is future lottery pick Brandon Miller. But you will remember that the dark side of the Alabama basketball program this year was that, and this is crazy, Darious Miles, who was a scholarship member of the Alabama men's basketball team was involved in a murder of a woman in Tuscaloosa.

And I want to make sure that we name her, a Jamey, John A Harris was shot to death on the strip in Tuscaloosa. She had at the time of the shooting a five year old boy.

And Darious Miles was charged one of two suspects charged with capital murder for that shooting. So that is the background of this story for those of you who have not been following it.

Darious Miles kicked off the team. I don't know. I'm assuming that he's still in prison. Maybe he has posted a bail and is out. He's awaiting capital murder charges. Well now comes more details. And I'm reading directly from a L.com, which is a website that covers the state of Alabama.

Alabama's freshman basketball standout Brandon Miller brought the gun used on the Tuscaloosa strip killing to to that shooting according to the testimony that occurred surrounding these capital murder charges.

Miles contacted Miller. Miles was the Alabama player who's been charged with capital murder. Contacted Miller asked him to bring his gun where they were according to police.

When Miller got to the scene, Miles told the shooter the heat is in the hat, meaning a gun was present. Miles added there's one in the head, meaning around was in the chamber.
