Welcome to the Bronx Pinsripe Show.

Today we are previewing the AL West and the A-Words with Jeff Blum and David Tuttle of the Bleacher Blum's podcast.

They've been on the show a bunch of times before.

Always good to talk baseball with these guys.

What's going on?

I'm good.

Things are great. Opening day opening days upon us everybody's happy

and elated and ready to go and it's always good being on talking with you guys appreciate it man

for sure it's uh yeah go ahead no i was just gonna say thanks for having us again uh everything's great

my bracket is almost dialed in i've got yukon winning it all no No, I'm kidding. So, yeah, no, it's good. It's good to be headed to, you know, into the season. Obviously, a lot on the table here with the rule changes. I'm really curious to see how that goes, but we're really appreciative that you guys have us on. Thanks. We've been doing preview episodes covering, because now with the balanced schedule, you know, every team's going to play everybody. So we just wanted to, you know, get, get all opponents from across the league. So we've done a lot of preview episodes so far. And I've asked everybody, what rule change you're most looking forward to this year? Tuttle, I'll start with you. Which one are you most looking forward to? Yeah, you know, that's great. You're as a pitcher, so Jeff and I have tried to, you know, differentiate a little bit hitter pitcher pitcher on our podcast and we stick with that. So from a pitcher's perspective, I honestly, I'm looking forward to the no shift. I thought the commercial was funny with Snell and Tim Anderson from the White Sox.

I don't know if you guys saw that where he won't go on the other side of the base to get the ball. I don't, you know, as a pitcher, you would think, hey, you'd want to stack everybody on one side. But I just think, I don't know, it's never sat well with me. and I think you know you just get more get, I'm more of a baseball purist, kind of like when we got away from, we're still the, you know, the launch, you know, three-run Homer and still bunting. But when we got back to like a, you know, smaller lineup like speedy guys at the top and better defense, you know, I think this just is another piece of that where you've got the nine guys kind of where they're supposed to be. And I think that's going to make for better baseball. That's the one I'm most looking forward just seeing where you don't have nine dudes on one side of the bag. So that's my, that's kind of my favorite thing. So it'll be interesting to see. From the, just real quick before Blumman, you hit on that, the, from the pitcher's side, I'm curious, like, yes, the shift, I think a lot of the guys are going to want to see it because the one ball that goes to the other side where there's nobody there is just probably infuriating.

But the fact that the base runners have such a tremendous advantage this year, that's got to also drive the pitcher's nuts a little bit because they're really at a

disadvantage.

And, you know, we'll see how the whole throwing over two to three times plays out and,

and, you know, how it affects them.

But really, the battery is at a huge disadvantage, in my opinion, when you got, when

you have runners on the, on the base paths.
