Sudan's rival military factions have announced a new three-day ceasefire,

but have shown no sign of ending their fight for the capital, Khartoum.

The paramilitary rapid support forces are still reported to control much of the city.

The Sudanese army has been bombing their positions and urging RSF fighters to surrender.

For the city's millions of inhabitants, life is now a cruel game of survival,

as food, water and power grow increasingly scarce,

quite apart from the threat from bullets and bombs.
