At the age of 32 Benjamin Franklin writing in his Almanac wrote these immortal words,

if you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead and rotten,

either write things worth reading or do things worth writing.

Well with this words, I welcome you to week one of our Pioneer series where we are going

to gain inspiration and courage and resolve in our walks with God,

in our daring greatly while we are here on this world,

by looking at the men and women that scripture holds up to us as checking both of those boxes,

having both done and spoken in ways that encouraged people to write down the things that they had done,

but also in the speaking and writing of great words themselves.

And what we are going to do in this series is we are not just going to look at what they did

and try and do it, we are instead going to try and learn how they thought,

to learn to think how they thought, and more importantly perhaps to believe how they believed.

Because what you believe, this is the kernel of this whole series,

determines how you behave.

So if you want to change your life, you need to change the way that you believe.

And so as such, the Pioneer series is all about faith.

I hope you are ready for a faith lift because that is what we are here for.

Title of my message today is, aim higher, shoot farther.

Aim higher, shoot farther.

The problem it has been said with aiming at nothing is that you will get it every single time.

So we need to challenge what we are aiming at to change what we are aiming at.
