potentially more volatility, the China threat

at the center, add in the must factor.

And the second Trump administration could also mean a shakeup in the current AI leaderboard.

So when it comes to setting limits and encouraging U.S. competitiveness, the president-elect's

AI policy could be a boon to the faster, unfettered development of the industry, though

potentially at the expense of transparency and guardrails,

if you believe that's necessary.

Now, take the Biden administration executive order on AI.

Trump has called it dangerous, said he plans to repeal it.

Part of the reason for that countering the threat of China,

which has been a central narrative, of course, of both Trump's campaign and within the AI industry itself.

The idea here is if you hinder the development of American AI through things like guardrails,

we risk seeding critical technology to China.

Over the summer, the America First Policy, a nonprofit group led by Trump allies,

drafted a very different AI executive order.

The Washington Post reports that it aimed to rule back regulations and launch a series of Manhattan projects to, quote, make America first in AI. That could pave the way for more data centers and

power plants necessary to support the development of this
