So many people are offering predictions on the impact of the AI boom. And I'm just going to be super

upfront and say, I'm not one of those people. I think there's a lot of strength in claiming

your own expertise, what you know and what you don't know. And my field of research,

my particular line of work, isn't artificial intelligence.

In fact, I'm probably a lot like you, dear listener.

I'm watching as this technology rapidly accelerates and wondering how this is going to transform

our workplace as we know it.

And I'll admit, there's some trepidation on my part.

On a personal level, I don't use it all that much.

I like the feeling of working through a problem on my own, and I don't want to be super reliant on

AI when I'm asking questions. I feel like this skepticism seems normal, even a little necessary.

And we should be thinking about the big picture. Like, what are the limits of

this technology? How will AI reshape our society? And what's really going to happen to people's

jobs and livelihoods? I'm Madhupacinola. This is Ted Business, a podcast from TED. Our speaker today, technologist
