U.S. stocks posted a fourth straight day of losses, pressured by high-flying tech and established firms alike.

The Dow slid 1.1%, shedding nearly 500 points, while the S&P 500 retreated 0.8%.

The tech-heavy NASDAQ dropped 1.2% as chip stocks including AMD,

Marvell Technology, and Micron sank. The VIX volatility index climbed 7% as a new survey

highlighted artificial intelligence bubble fears among fund managers. Among individual companies, Home Depot cut its annual outlook due to a continued slump in home

improvement activity, sending its stock down 6% for its largest daily decline since February

2023.

Medical device maker Medtronic jumped nearly 5% after posting stronger than projected quarterly results and raising its annual outlook.

Financial Technology Company into it rose less than 1% after striking a multi-year partnership with OpenAI.

And Lockheed Martin shares rose nearly 1% after President Trump said yesterday that he would sell

the company's F-35 jet fighters to Saudi Arabia.
