exploring social, economic, political, and geopolitical concerns.

I'm Bill Whalen. I'm a Hoover Distinguished Policy Fellow. Back as your moderator,

I'd like to thank my colleagues for picking out my slack in my absence. And I'm here with

my three friends, the Goodfellows, as we call them, that would be the historian Neil Ferguson, the economist John Cochran, the Geostrategist, General

H.R. McMaster, the H.R. McMaster, the H.R. McMaster, we're covering two topics in today's

good fellows. The first part will be on AI, and the second will be on A-bomb, specifically we're

going to talk about artificial intelligence, and this being the 78th anniversary of the dropping of atomic

weapons on Japan. We thought a good time to

pose to our two historians, whether or not Harry Truman made the right call. So joining us today to talk

about AI is Dr. Fay-Fei Lee. Dr. Lee is the inaugural Sequoia professor in the Computer Science Department

at Stanford University, and she's co-director at Stanford's Human Center and AI Institute.

She served as the director of Stanford's AI Lab from 2013 to 2018.

It was during that time that she took a one-year sabbatical to serve as a Google Vice President

and Chief Scientist of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Google Cloud.

Dr. Lee joins us today to talk about artificial intelligence, its promises and perils.
