We begin with President Donald Trump's ongoing attempt and recent escalation

to acquire Greenland. Over the weekend, Trump has said the U.S. will impose additional tariffs

on eight European countries until the U.S. has had a deal to acquire Greenland. Trump proposed

a 10% tariff starting February 1st, which he says he will

raise to 25% in June if Europe doesn't capitulate. Those countries are all members of NATO

and have said they stand with NATO member Denmark and its autonomous territory, Greenland.

And in multiple social media posts overnight, Trump shared private messages from world leaders,

including one from French President Emmanuel Macron that reads,

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant is already in Davos, and today he seemed to issue a warning to European leaders.

Trump is repeatedly said taking control of Greenland is vital for U.S. national security,

frequently citing concerns about Russia and China's Arctic influence.
