He's entering his second season there.

He previously was the head coach at Duke for a couple of years. He was the 22 ACC coach of the year. Texas A&M last year, went eight and five. They were five and three in SEC play, and they were beaten by USC in the Las Vegas Bowl. We are joined right now by Mike Elko.

Mike, it is great to have you back on the show. How's everything with you, Mike, and how has your summer gone so far? Yeah, it's been great. It's great to be back on with you, Jim. It's always great to be on the show, and it means football season's here. I didn't have the best summer. We spent the summer moving to college station finally.

But we're excited, ready to go for the season.

Hey, Mike, I was going to ask you about that. I know you made that move. So you mentioned on SEC Media Days, while other coaches were talking about their beach trips that you owed your wife, Michelle, an apology, because the family had to move. And the family didn't get that extended vacation. So if you spent most of the time moving and packing and the like, did Michelle, was she upset or does she understand, man, this is the life that we signed up for, and there are going to be summers like this. Yeah, my life's the best. So she understands this coach's life. And I think as long as I can get her somewhere, maybe preferably Hawaii next summer, she'll forgive me. I think that's kind of the world I'm in right now. I got you. Mike Elko is joining us. Mike, before we look at this season, how about one look back on last season? Texas Sandin was 7 and 1, 5 and O at an SEC play with four games left. I know that you know that. You lost three conference games down the stretch. So when you took a deep breath and you analyzed what happened at the end of last season,

what were your biggest takeaways? Yeah, I think big picture, we took a step forward as a program,

and that was important. I think we put ourselves in position to play meaningful games in November,
