South Florida is being drenched with torrential rain, triggering

dangerous flash floods in some of the state's most populated cities like

Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Some areas got a month's worth of rain in a matter of hours.

A major interstate was shut down,

hundreds of flights were canceled,

and dozens of people had to be rescued.

First responders are still out in high water vehicles now trying to see if there are more people who need help,

especially since many roads and some buildings have been washed out.

And the flood threat is expected to last as more rain falls through the end of the work week.

All of this just days into the Atlantic hurricane season.
