This is episode 407, and this episode is called Afterwards in the Jury Room.

I've been thinking about something my dad used to say, and it's so compelling, and when I tell people this thing that he used to say, they're like, oh, it's like he was talking

about his experience, his life experience actually, but over multiple decades.

But it's something about this moment and all the multiple things happening are all around us,

the chaos and the doubling down on ignorance and incompetence. And yet, that march here

in America a couple of weekends ago, the best estimate is that that was the second largest march

ever in Americaica uh the general

agreement is 1970 earth day march was the most amount of people in america but then next to that

was the one a couple of weekends ago and across the board it happened without any apparent, at least that made headlines,

violence or mass looting or destruction of property.

So when people talk about the folks taken to the streets,

that's actually happened just recently in our lifetime the second most it's ever happened.

So this level of activation and tuning in and spinal fortitude and standing up and calling things out

is also happening at the exact same time

a number of other things are happening. Yeah, that's a lot for a heart to bear, to handle,

for a for a mind to try and absorb. Yeah, so if you find yourself just like, whew, it's a lot. Yeah,

this is a lot. So, so here's what I do. I want to tell you what my dad said, because as a judge,

he did roughly 44 years of trials. Yeah. And there were lots of, we ate dinner as a family most evenings.

And at dinner each evening, it was just assumed we'd go around the table and tell about our

day.
