What's up, everybody? Welcome back to Black Girl Gone After Thoughts. I, of course, am

0:16.2

your host Amara. And I am here with my husband and my co-host, Jason. What's going on, yo?

0:22.6

So this week, we did the story of Tiani Theos. And I know a lot of people, this was a,

0:30.8

this was a really sad episode for a lot of people. Despite the fact that there were, that we don't

0:34.9

have a lot of details about the investigation and that type of thing, it wasn't one of those

0:40.8

type of episodes. Just this Tiani story in general, I know struck a lot of people. And I think that

0:49.1

not only, you know, was she murdered and the things that happened to her beforehand,

0:53.5

but the whole sex trafficking element to her story also, you know, just makes it a lot,

1:01.1

a lot sadder because of the things that we're going on and the things that have been

1:05.7

introduced into her life. And it's not often that I do stories where we know for sure that sex

1:13.1

trafficking was a part of what happened or was, you know, a part of an element of the story.

1:20.2

There was Natanali, Perez. There was Alexis Camry Scott. We know those two cases, but there's

1:27.2

not often where we know that sex trafficking was an element of a story, of a case, of a murder.

1:35.3

So I think that that added to just the, I guess the overall sadness of Tiani's case,

1:42.0

Latin, you know, and also obviously the fact that she was just 16 years old and had been through

1:48.8

so much in such a short period of time and then ended up the way she did. So yeah, that, that,

1:56.4

the story was, it was a, it was a tough one this week. All stories, all the stories are tough.

2:00.7

I, you know, you said it every week, but it's true. It's true. Every week, these stories are,

2:05.5

they are tough, but there's certain episodes that, and you know, you listen, you're listeners,

2:11.2

you know that there's certain stories that hit you a certain way. Like all the stories are said,

2:15.8

but I think that particularly, especially ever since I've started doing stories that involve

2:22.4

teenage girls and things like that younger 16, it's hard because I know there's a lot of moms,
