The National Football League suspended Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans for one game without pay

for his role in the brawl with the Saints on Sunday.

Evans has exercised his right to appeal.

The Buccaneers host the Packers in week three.

Here's quarterback Tom Brady reacting to the news that Evans pending appeal will miss

the week three game.

In the fact that Mike would come out there to defend me, I mean, means everything in

the world to me is a teammate in the frame.

It might knows how I feel about him.

So in the end, emotions are a part of sports.

Sometimes they boil over and they obviously did yesterday and it's an unfortunate circumstance.

I don't think it deserved any type of suspension.

I think that's ridiculous, you know, hopefully we can move past it, get to a better place.

And you know, in the end, I appreciate Mike having my back.

I know he'll learn from it.

And he knows that we all have his back.

Yeah, look, what else do we expect, Tom Brady to say?

Tom Brady stands to not have his favorite receiver available to him for a critical game

against Aaron Rogers, bragging rights, playoff positioning, a victory or a loss that will

echo into January, that could be the difference between one seed or not the one seed.

Who knows?

So Brady is going to support his guy because he wants his guy and he still may have him.
