It was fascinating, but unfortunately, it just kind of highlights the pressure, especially back then, on both sides of the fella trying to get ahead, trying to work his way into higher society.

But I guess women did too.

And she's just looking to get a stable relationship, that sort of thing.

Yeah, she just wanted a family and a husband and a life.

Yeah.

And unfortunately, she picked wrong.

She chose poorly.

She did. And he convinced her somewhat, obviously, because she became

pregnant. Well, she also said that she said no on multiple occasions. Yeah, and he probably was just like, come on, come on.

Finally, she probably relented or said fine, but.

Or he attacked her.

Or he attacked.

Yeah, no, but okay, if he really attacked her, then why would she be writing him letters,

and I can't wait to see you, and we're going to to get back together and she's hoping to get married.

I mean, that doesn't really sound to me like he attacked and raped her.

He coerced her into being with him sexually.

But I mean, a guy, well, guys, kind of do that.
