Summary

On this episode of After Reality, I sit down with Molly Mesnick to dive into life after The Bachelor. We get real about the highs and lows of reality TV fame—navigating social media, the pressure to keep showing up in the spotlight, and the challenge of creating a “normal” life once the cameras stop rolling.

Beyond our shared reality TV history, Molly opens up about marriage, parenting, and her thriving career in real estate. She shares incredible parenting and relationship advice, plus her honest take on why The Golden Wedding left her feeling a little icky. We also look ahead to the future of the franchise—and you won’t want to miss the reveal of which hit reality show she and Jason just turned down.

It’s heartfelt, unfiltered, and a must-listen for any Bachelor fan.

Mesnick. It's quite an intro. I don't know if I'm Bachelor TV royalty, but I'm something. You, uh, you absolutely are. And you've, I've seen you on Jen's season. You came back to do that. I mean, you've, you've been at the, what was it, the wedding? You were at the wedding. Yeah, we like, we've been so set. Well, I mean, we'll get into all of it. But we were so far removed from that world. And for some reason last year, we got thrown back in, like out of nowhere. Yeah, that's what happens with me. And that's what I also want to talk to you about today. Because I feel like you and I are like kind of from the OG era where there wasn't social media. I mean, call it what you want. Like, there for the right reasons.

1:12.4

And like, I took time away from the franchise after my season, but I always get sucked back in.

1:18.3

And now, your mom, I'm a mom. I also do real estate on the side as well. But I find myself, like, do I watch this season?

1:26.3

Like, it's just so part of my life. And I've really been struggling watching this latest season of Paradise. And I'm curious to see your thoughts on that. And I feel like maybe I've aged out of it a little bit. And there's part of me that's just like I don't know that I want it in my orbit anymore. So that's kind of something I've been dealing

1:44.7

with. But I get these, you know, I got invited back for Zach Shelfcroft season. Yeah.

1:49.9

The appearance view is kind of nice. Yeah. I know. We removed ourselves from that world, God,

1:59.0

years ago. Like, obviously after our season, we got asked to do things often because we were still

2:03.4

fresh.

2:03.7

But there's, like, always a new breed of people coming in.

2:07.5

And I guess it was maybe like there's, there was one interview we did during COVID,

2:12.3

actually.

2:12.7

It was in 2020.

2:13.7

We did some TV show with Andy Cohen.

2:16.0

And it was like a history of reality TV. And I hated how the

2:20.1

interview went. Oh, that's the worst. Jason after. And I was like, I'm done. I'm not doing this anymore.

2:26.1

Like I, we are so far removed. I hardly even remember being on TV. We get asked the same questions,

2:32.0

which is so annoying. I'm like, I don't want to do it anymore. I'm done with that chapter. I'm closing it. And so every podcast request, every, everything, I said no to. I was like, nope, I've moved on. And then we got asked to go to the golden wedding. And I was like, okay. Royalty. Pretty innocent. It's like just being a guest at a wedding, we don't have to do anything special.

2:53.9

But being at the wedding, I felt really uncomfortable and like out of my element because there were all these like young people.
