to cover some underreported stories and one of them was the double hurricane disasters a couple of years ago

after which a record 91 billion dollars in tax money was committed for recovery.

Those hurricanes happened right after my first trip to Puerto Rico where I was covering their corruption scandal. The island was and is basically in a technical bankruptcy after many years of corruption and misspending.
