tire which is a truck tire used on some recreational vehicles and motor homes.

We are going to talk about the many controversies

and the current preliminary federal investigation.

In fact, we're talking about the G-159 tire and why don't we mention off the top you

were covering this or looking at the story even when you worked at another network

some years ago a couple years ago I got wind of kind of what was going on with this G-155 tire.

It's a tire made by Goodyear that fits onto motor homes wasn't designed necessarily initially for

motor homes but it does fit on motor homes and there have been a stream of accidents where the tread of the tire falls apart or allegedly falls

apart because of a number of factors.

Well, they were made for like stop and go traffic in cities like FedEx trucks,

but since they fit motor homes, the allegation is they heat up too much at highway speeds and can cause these

accidents but what got you interested a couple years ago I don't know I think I

just read something about it and then I saw that like it was like during Christmas

break one and NHTSA the National Highway Transportation Safety

Administration just sent like a one-page or like we're opening up a preliminary investigation into this.

And it just seemed unusual that they were doing this and it just kind of caught my eye and
