Summary

Following the leak of the Supreme Court draft opinion that would apparently overturn Roe v. Wade, pro-choice activists have been conducting protests outside the homes of Supreme Court justices including Justice Samuel Alito, the author of the draft. Republicans have condemned their actions, saying their intimidation of Justices is unethical and illegal. And while Democrats have voiced their support for the protesters, who they say are simply exercising their First Amendment rights, Senate Democrats did vote for a bipartisan bill that expands security protection to the immediate family members of the high court. However, the House has yet to act and there is still pressure on Congress to do more. Esther Salas, a Federal Judge for the District Court in New Jersey, is one of those who say the government is not doing enough to protect judges. Earlier in the week, she joined host Dave Anthony on the Rundown to discuss the need for security for Supreme Court Justices and what actions Congress must take. Salas also discussed the tragic story of how she was targeted for doing her job and lost her son during an attack at her family's home. Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the conversation in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear the entire discussion with Judge Esther Salas. You'll hear more about why she believes it is vital for our democracy to protect judges and how she remains hopeful despite the heartbreaking loss. Learn more about your ad choices.
