California's park fire scorched 430,000 acres of land this summer.

It was the fourth largest fire in the state's history. But there's been an unexpected

success story that has sprouted from the ashes of this charred landscape, a boon

for monarch butterflies. Joining me to talk about this story is my guest,

Danielle Venton, science reporter for KQED Public Radio in Sonoma County, California.
